Back-To-School 停校日
Project:Goodbye, teachers. Goodbye, classmates. See you all tomorrow 《
2021-Now
(work in progress) As declining birth rates continue, the number of schools closing each year steadily increases. Yet this social transformation remains largely peripheral to public attention. This long-term photographic project seeks to engage with society through artistic practice by focusing on campuses that have withdrawn from operation. It asks: what constitutes a school? What remains of spatial memory once its institutional function dissolves? Within demographic transition, is the gradual ruination and heterogenization of the campus an inevitable condition? As these sites shift from use to abandonment—occupying an interim state between presence and obsolescence—can the image locate forms of heterotopia within them? Through photography, the project explores whether this transitional phase can render visible the emotional projections and layered memories embedded in these spaces.
