On the way 在路上
Project:Blank Film
2025
Silkscreen prints, series of seven works/Each composed of 3–5 screens/Approx. 17 × 12 cm each Project: Blank Film is a more intimate body of work. It begins with the sudden death of a close friend and a roll of film he left behind—exposed, yet entirely undeveloped. Four years after the incident, the ongoing process of making and exhibiting becomes a way to respond to and reflect upon death, memory, and emotion: memories that are at times continuous, at times piercingly vivid, at times suspended in a haze. Through this project, I also question time itself—what is lost after death, and what, if anything, remains. Over these four years, on his death anniversary, his birthday, or whenever a few friends are free, I bring my camera and visit him at the site of his tree burial. Along the way, I leave behind images. I reproduce these photographs through silkscreen printing, as if retracing that road again and again—returning, each time, to the same passage.
